Report The Leopard February 10, 2017 12:25 AM GMT
Agreed: we have 5 million too many people in this country and it is putting massive pressure on the NHS……  So is the underfunding by the Tories.

I'd make it simpler,if an immigrant breaks any law he should be sent packing.

That would whittle down the numbers.

they have figures that model that leopard so they cant say its unexpected

they will need to agree a date with eu for "return of expats" id expect date will be
sometime in 2018/19 so any here now or over there will be granted permission to
stay, but obviously thats up to teresa to use as a bargaining chip

kicking out 3 million workers from uk would be quite a job

i keep hearing about all these schemes about making housing more affordable but nobody ever mentions how you make cheaper houses next to someone who bought one at the top of the market 12 months earlier, all cheaper houses will do ,will lower the prices of the current housing stock forcing people into negative equity and blocking the housing chain because millions when they out grow their house wont be able to move,i,m afraid the genies out of the bottle with 10 years of subsidising house buyers with low interest rates and fancy schemes
Report saddo February 10, 2017 10:13 AM GMT
They cannot have a situation where house prices fall quickly, negative equity would affect the loan to asset ratio and the banks would be in bother again. The best they can hope for is that house prices wither on the vine, a long haul.
Report wildmanfromborneo February 10, 2017 10:39 AM GMT
Anxious,I'm against mass immigration.
I'm against it because it suppresses wages and affects the working class.
I'm against immigrants that won't work.

The political elites and the wealthy and business class have joined forces with the Islington set in swamping your country with hostile immigrants.
The wealthy want the cheap labour, the nannies, the maids.
The Labour and Lib/Dems want the votes.
The Islington set want to virtue signal.

The people paying the price are the working class.
Its their houses that are getting taken
Its their jobs getting snaffled.
Its their hospital beds getting occupied.
Its their kids school places getting taken.

There is also the danger of terrorism in these waves of migration and the rewarding of traffickers.
Report The Leopard February 10, 2017 10:51 AM GMT
^ Agree with most of that.

We need a stop to immigration......why should we take even high skilled people from other countries when they are surely needed in those countries to build their own ecomomies.
Report unitedbiscuits February 10, 2017 10:56 AM GMT
One of the most beneficial examples of mass immigration (apart from obvious examples like the Jewish diaspora and the Huguenots) was the influx of young Irish people, a generation ago. It would be hard to put a number on that wave of immigration, it coincided with the Poll Tax, but London was suffused with new Irish blood. Most were better educated and qualified than the resident population and it is no surprise that they have flourished and now form an important part of the so-called "metropolitan elite."
It is unclear whether wildman would like to prevent Irish immigration. Perhaps just Catholics. I think we should be told.
Report anxious February 10, 2017 10:58 AM GMT
I  agree partly with what you say Wild West but you its an easy exscuse to say that immigration is the the major problem the main problem is a  Government obsessed with the free market and still trying to implement s failed trickle down approach , after all the Thatcherite dream of a property owning democracy is now dead .

Yes but how has that affected the Irish economy and communities, maybe the UK would not have had to bail them out a few years back when they were near collapse.

Irish immigration is different.
Its a recent development as we were in a political union for years.
Internal migration is not immigration.

Having said that any one who is a guest of your country should obey its laws, the penalties should be severer for immigrants and deportation should be in play for any offence.

I was an immigrant,I was thankful of the opportunity presented to me,I broke no laws and collected no welfare and finally I went home.
The problem immigrants break laws, collect welfare and never go home.

Of The overall benefits caseload, only 2.5% is paid to EU migrants.Once they are gone, and replaced by our own unemployable class (good luck with that) and the working class are worse off with no scapegoats to blame, there is bound to be a lot of disappointment and anger.

And the Governments opposition being the Labour Party sees no problem with current UK immigration figures.  If the Labour Party was not so tribal then it would admit that over supply of labour is a negative to native workers.

Yes capitalisms bust has caused the injury, but an oversupply of labour from the EU has ben the insult to that injury.
