What have all these movements got in common?,they all portray the past as being better promising a return to an earlier
time in history where everything was better e.g Make America Great again Take Back Control..e.t.c. They fail to offer a real solution as the world has moved on once we stopped making Clothing in Leeds that was the end of that industry you can't get it back it went to India and China a return is impossible and improbable. Automation is another reason jobs won't be coming back what 200 men did 50 years ago 20 can do now.All these promises of some sort of Utopia are just political promises that can't be met and blaming immigration is also a big red herring we just have to accept we will all be poorer unless we opt for a different system to the capitalism we have today. The blame game isn't an answer it's really a critique of the way things work in reality. It offers nothing to nobody and reinforces the strength of those with all the money. |

I will read the piece, bm. I am puzzled as to why you always link capitalism and unlimited immigration so firmly. We could replace the former without allowing the latter, I don't see the connection.

If every country was equally well off nobody would move around half as much but capitalism causes imbalances
and capital is always moving |

In France -- Fillon, who until Penelopegate was odds-on to be the new president, wants to sack 100,000 public sector workers. That might be one reason for them to support Le Pen (or Macron or ...).
