Facts hasn't commented on last nights NHS programme which showed health tourists costing the health service hundreds of thousands of pounds.
When this was pointed out to him before he dismissed it and inferred he knew nothing about it.

When presented with evidence that's counter to his position either rubbishes it without any evidence to support him or makes a counter and totally tangential point.

Now that quite simply is a policy that is costing the NHS billions of pounds, the exact figures are estimates as can be seen from your link.
When I mentioned this before your only answer was that this is NHS policy, as far as I can recall. I might be mistaken.

I thought the cost of health tourism was 2 or 3 hundred million a year which while a lot of money is no where near the billions that have been quoted.

The actual amount is not really the issue. We invite and allow people to take advantage of us and it should stop immediately.

now the case in last nights programme, just a few were costing hundreds of thousands of pounds that they will make no real effort to get back.
These individuals if they can't pay should serve a jail sentence and their respective governments billed .

Is it possible to insist non eu tourists have health insurance, donny? If this was the case anyone likely to need treatment due to existing conditions would probably be deterred by the cost.

The government themselves, who want to downplay this problem , just a few years ago estimated that the NHS was losing billions of pounds to health tourism.

My girlfriend saw a doctor for ten minutes in Greece last year, 50 euros. You do not get this back, EU citizen or not, we should reciprocate.

look it's quite simple, if they fall ill quite innocently while on holiday or as students treat them and charge them or their respective gov. I don't consider them to be health tourists, now in the case of health tourists they are commuting a crime and should serve a jail sentence it be fined, and also the costs of NHS treatment recovered from themselves or their government

thete are not likely to be children in the company of a single parent . They can go home with their family. If for some reason this is impossible they can be looked after , and the costs added. It would not even dent the NHS losses

The problem is even if charged, how can they be made to pay if they have already received the treatment. In the USA you pay first and then you receive treatment. The bleeding heart liberals say "It's their lives and health at stake so they must be treated whatever"! The sooner one of these scroungers arrives in the UK, is refused treatment before paying, and then dies the better. A precedent will have been set and the UK will show that one can't get away with it. Unfortunately all the human rights scum, pinko liberals and Guardian readers will say "Oh Slicer, you are a horrible man and we can't let that happen!" My answer to that is YOU pay for them then. They would change their tune if a malinger took the bed away from a critically ill son or daughter of theirs.

We were talking about health tourism,
When I said that billions were being lost to the NHS  his reply to this was
that the NHS was there to treat anyone who turned up at a hospital in England.
Now that statement either infers that Facts knows nothing about the nature of the problem.

Facts likes the health tourists,thinks they are more deserving than the people who have contributed for generations.

Its not easy to estimate how much these health tourists cost.
One group however cost around 25 grand per person per year,they are those gentlemen with HIV.
They also take up doctors time and hospital beds.

The next time someone belonging to you is waiting on a trolley remember there are health tourists outrageously occupying hospital beds.
As usual it is the British working class that suffer.
