Dear God, the poor bugger's only just retired after 60 odd years broadcasting couldn't he have had a bit longer?

He had Alzheimers and suffered a long battle with cancer. He was 90.

Loved his voice, he use to do his radio show from his house in Scotland

Only discovered his show a year ago and now hes gone , shall miss what a nice guy he seemed.

He use to be married to the actress Queenie Watts if i remember correctly, he remarried when she died

Rural Perthshire, thats right, he use to speak about Bears and stags, wandering around his garden..and the time when they were cut off by snow for over a month, great stuff

Very sad ironic that on he day they were doing the tribute show to him he passed away.
