If he'd lived in Pakistan for some years, and was 67 years old, that might explain the lack of work colleagues. If his relations (assuming any were alive) were in London, they'd not have seen all the local coverage up north and would not associate someone they thought was in Pakistan with a body near Manchester.

Ram , this was a NATIONAL / international news story massively covered by internet /tv news including Newsnight film reports. Also excellent CCTV pics. But of course you are largely right. The people that needed to see it didn't see it or failed to speak up. Could be he wasn't well liked !

Also the (taxi) driver that MUST ( on the timings ) have taken him from Manchester to Greenfield didn't come forward.

@howard -- more likely the right people were dead or in the wrong country.

strychnine , unusual medical procedure in Pakistan , dead on Saddleworth Moor , struggle to identify person ......a truly puzzling story.

Ram , we will see. But you were making out the coverage was largely local in nature. That is definitely not the case. But yes it's likely that the key people were not aware of the news. But my view is that this story is likely to confirm how easily it is to be invisible in this world. That disturbs many but not me.

We know anything more until Friday but if for example he worked /signed on in London in his fifties people will have come in contact with him. You have to live somewhere buy food get a haircut etc. OK they don't remember him a day later. If he was a George Clooney lookalike maybe different story.
