Yes but you seem to be implying that she isn't principled because she voted remain.
Report Breedingmad January 26, 2017 12:14 PM GMT
She sidestepped a question about whether she wanted to be prime minister and focused on explaining why Britain should stay in the EU. May said: “That is one of my messages in terms of the issue of the referendum, actually we shouldn’t be voting to try to recreate the past, we should be voting for what is right for the future.”
Report akabula January 26, 2017 12:23 PM GMT
I still don't see your point re how she voted.
She voted to remain but the majority of those who voted chose to leave.
She is ignoring her own feelings on the matter and doing what she is paid to do which is represent the voters wishes.
Report Breedingmad January 26, 2017 12:34 PM GMT

Report akabula January 26, 2017 1:44 PM GMT
Well I don't think anything she has done so far points to an unprincipled person.
As regards leaving the single market May cannot say anything else and must come across as ready to leave the EU no matter what.
Bit like a poker player and she'll play her cards when needed. She obviously wants a good deal for the UK but is realistic enough to know that it'll be the same for the EU delegates.
Much has been said about the lack of information being given out but surely the more she says on what she's willing to compromise on then the weaker our hand.

Akabula,

sorry I missed that.  Teresa May's not a principled politician in my book.

Sorry, but FFS sake she's got a degree in geography.  WTF use is that? And this ...

In 2010, May promised to bring the level of net migration down to less than 100,000.[76] In February 2015, The Independent reported, "The Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced a net flow of 298,000 migrants to the UK in the 12 months to September 2014 – up from 210,000 in the previous year."[77] In total, 624,000 people migrated to the UK in the year ending September 2014 and 327,000 left in the same period. Statistics showed "significant increases in migration among both non-EU citizens – up 49,000 to 292,000 – and EU citizens, which rose by 43,000 to 251,000."[77]

Why didn't she resign having failed so badly?

BTW I'm a Conservative supporter - all my life - but I want politicians I can trust, not those who do anything to keep in.

Spain backs early trade talks in Brexit negotiations

The EU should begin trade talks with Britain relatively soon and has no plan to impose a “punitive” Brexit agreement that would weaken London as a financial centre, Spain’s foreign minister has said.

Alfonso Dastis made clear in an interview that Spain was sympathetic to several key British demands — notably London’s call to negotiate a trade deal at the same time as the separation talks with the EU.
