Turned it off, it's pointless crep.
As a matter of interest.... A story of sexual infidelity and sexual violence, written by a woman, screenplay by a woman, 2 executive producers both women.
This is what I don't like about the BBC, the discrimination.

Trying for the '50 Shades of Grey' market, but ignoring stuff like plot and storyline, in favour of a series of implausible back alley bunk ups (fnarr!).

We have two wealthy individuals incapable of getting a hotel room to conduct their affair in - so the viewer never even gets to see anything remotely racy, alienating even the wristers it was supposed to attract!

Enjoyed it....thought Emily Watson was excellent and at 50yrs of age very attractive.Anyone else think she had a passing resemblance to the late Lee Remick?

I was watching while cooking so may have missed some of the nuances, looks like we're being led to believe that the guy is connected to the security services

It was good but not brilliant. I couldn’t bring myself to believe she would act as she did and the relationship was unconvincing.

Probably watch the next part but Wife has read the book and now told me the whole story, won't put in any spoiler. But from the first part last night it was hard to believe a high achiever like Yvonne could be so irritatingly dense, and the bloke she is having an affair with seems distant and odd. Interesting story what happens next, some unexpected twists....

He likes sex in public places, where there's a risk they could be caught. Makes it more erotic( for them both)
Report rogerthebutler January 23, 2017 2:34 PM GMT
Ah I see.

And there was I thinking it was consensual, mutually fulfilling sex between two grown adults, where all the time it's something done 'to' her for his pleasure which she goes along with.

......as well as a handy plot device to prevent her getting her t1ts out.

I watched the afore mentioned and thought their choices of locations lacked ambiance, atmospherre, warmth and romance.

A large cupboard; 2 Gents and various chilly alleyways and doorways. No wonder the 'action' lasted 60 seconds at most.

I barely remember the book, I know it was good. Oh hang on she's getting up in the middle of the night and typing on her computer what happened in the cupboard with Mr X. It's coming back to me a little.
