Well just had it switched off in the car which was about 50 yds from their front door. You can't go anywhere these days with out someone knowing about it, privacy is a thing of the past now. They must be bombarding every phone, electronic device that goes near the place.

You can switch off AFAIK telling the location to websites. And probably tablet telling provider your location.
And the browser may have settings. I know firefox does and nags sometimes. I don't like it so my phone (android) has it switched off so map apps always complain .I used someone elses wifi and go to google, and it tells me news for where I am ... but I didn't tell them where I was? ... arrgh. It must be what his ISP tells them or something or lists that internet address as a location. I don't use apple products but there are probaby settings for it? |

You see even if GPS is off they can derive an approximate location from phone transmitters if that's used or perhaps even wifi.
There was some scandal like google streetview also listening for wifi signals I think as they went around and storing them? |
