the trains came to Egypt and two men were talking in the stokers compartment of the engine. The engineer told the stoker to throw another Pharaoh on the fire. because all the mummies had no use to the Egyptians, they held their history in total contempt. Now that the foreigners have shown interest, it's become important. This happens in every society. they love something for a short space of time then it falls away and becomes yesterdays toy.
Sure, some collectors love old stuff. They will try and keep it safe, but it all turns to dust. So they make reproductions.
books are reprinted. tv is rehashed. films are remade. it's endless trying to make the old new again.
