There is a firm of solicitors signing people for a class action. As far as I am aware they are working on a 30% cut of whatever comp you are awarded.

I have always wondered why other motor companies who followed the rules are not making claims against VW as well, surely VW cheating affected the sales of other motor companies ?

I had one of these cars and sold it recently. I had received the recall letter and the car was booked into the local main dealer for the 'fix' to be carried out. I told the new owner of this and they were going to take the car in to fufil the appointment and get the job done.
I know in the States customers are receiving compensation from VW, but who gets it?
a. The first owner (not me in this case)
b. The person who owned the car when the scandal broke and were likely to have had to take a hit on the resale value as a result (me)
c. The current owner (again, not me)

When the problem first emerged I thought - they are going to be stuffed to the same extent BP have been.  BP's mistakes cost 11 lives? Diesel emissions have prematurely killed at least a hundred thousand plus here and in the US. If you own shares in car manufacturers that did these things - sell!  Our/Europe's layers will get up to speed eventually.  It's legal armageddon!

Make that lawyers rather than layers - same thing I suppose.

Theyll be no compensation in UK or Europe. Completely different compensation landscape to the US

No car does the economy the paperwork claims. If your car has live MPG floor it and look at the figures Shocked
