I must admit though, I did like Peston when he was the BBC political correspondent. For some reason, he was fascinating to watch and listen to and he did know his stuff!

Yes, that's the guy! LOL! But it was fun listening to him.

I think two of the best correspondents in my view that the BBC used were John Cole (sadly now passed away) and Robin Oakley who was possible pushed out rather than resigned because they considered Andrew Marr to be more 'entertaining' which seemed to be the way the BBC wanted to go.

Oakley was my favourite - a very sound correspondent with no frills and a professional approach to his reporting.

peston is just another guesser, we like his stories, to summarise and simplify and to reduce everything to a dimension.
it's actually a fraud but we are too polite to notice.

I quite like Nick Robinson. He was brilliant when standing in for Marr one Sunday morning,a vast improvement on the preening wing nut!
