I seem to recall maybe 15p but 25p for a CHOMP

They are same size if not smaller than 10p ones

a real shocka is the new Turkish delight - I'm not gonna buy that again - i lifted one in Salisbury and it's been miniaturized. They got rid of the ridges a few years ago. now it's a shadow of what it was. It's not as if they'd lose money at the old size? because one of their competitors is selling three in a pack for the same price.

i also lifted a multi pack of twirls? it had a big gap in the pouch it comes in? everything is a con now. the cereal in the box is half empty? the crisps are in big bags too. treating the customer as an idiot is not a good idea. He'll just walk away from you.

The antiques roadshow once featured a schoolbook from the 50's which had a false back
inside of which there was a Mars Bar and a Frys Turkish Delight both of which were
about 3 times the size of todays bars.

Confectionary manufacturers say they are reducing the size as a nod to health issues/lless sugar.

Then they package them in 3s or 4s for £1.

Crazy

Eatin' a Mars Bar was a challenge at one time. Could eat two or three of the wimpy modern ones.
Report Jack Hacksaw January 19, 2017 3:16 PM GMT
True.  They were a lot harder.

Probably due to no-one being able to afford any heating.
Report Breedingmad January 19, 2017 3:24 PM GMT
At one time you could work rest and play on just one mars bar not anymore.

another trick ! my son brought home a pack of sweets cant remember the name of them, sour tasting chewey sweets ! they used to be in a pack similar to opal fruits got about 10 in the pack when i was nipper, anyway had a look at them and the crafty khoonts had changed the pack and made the  sweets  slightly bigger and put them side by side so you only got 6 of em in a pack !

If you want cheap junk food Pounland is a must. Got 8 pack of Wagon Wheels some might say their size has reduced etc but I demolished the whole pack in one go and I had never felt so full! Vs a Mars Bar for 70p is an obvious no brainer. Great for Multi-pack crisp too.

To be fair, though, as some sort of benchmark, I am twice the size I was when I ate sweets like these on a regular basis.

And 4 times as old!
