With nobody overseeing what you do on a train - bring the marker pens out and draw on the seats.

Instead of having the guards sitting in the back cabs of trains, reading the paper, on their phones and opening/closing the doors every 10 minutes, have the drivers operating the doors, like they do on the majority of rail companies throughout the land, and then make the guard into a train host, permanently inside the train dealing with security and assistance.

Simple really.

the guards on trains up here in durham and surrounds have quite a few fares
to collect, so i cant see them being withdrawn.
