Had 3 or 4 inches in Medway, you are a lucky boy or girl to get a full 8"! oh er missus

Yesterday most people had the day off, no cars moved. Today a few cars moved but not many. It is pathetic. It doesn't help when people do not know how to drive. You see them on TV driving too close and too fast. The lack of knowledge of basic physics or something scientific with an ology is blindin'.

I remember going out with Mrs 'Death in Wisconsin once. A good covering of snow, a minimum of yer average six inches! We drove about 80 miles to a college friend of hers during the day. temperatures plunged to something like -15 to -20C but we still went out for a drink in the evening and the friends husband drove, well he was the local judge and nobody was going to cite him for DUI! He drove just fine. Plenty of people out it was a normal night.

We went home the next da but overnight there was an ice storm. In the morning the roads were glass like but we still ventured home around midday when the sun was up. I did try and warn Mrs 'Death it might be better to wait a day but beinga local she wouldn't have it. The local country road were heavily cambered, I did try and advice her to drive down the middle of the road but she wouldn't have a bar of it.

Anyway we lost control over the brow of a hill. She didn't do anything wrong, it was just one of those things. We slid in slow motion a two ton Caddy with rear wheel drive. I told her to take her foot off the pedals and let it go which she did as we were on a downward slope. Lucky we were in Hicksville and there were no other cars around. Our tank turned 180 in slow motion  over about 60 yards without sound and reversed into the gathered snow by the side of the road. No phone signal. We waited 20 minutes and a pick up came by. They all drive pik ups in the sticks! He had chains, pulled us out and off we went. We tried to give him $30 as a think you but he didn't want it but I insisted with my Emglish accent that I wouldn't be getting any if he didn't take the dough so he smiles and took it and that is the difference between us and them!

We just have no idea how to drive nor when to drive. People who should not be able to walk on a footpath are driving in killing machines. If you can't drive don't! If you got a rear wheel drive stay at home unless you really fancy yourself!
Report Whisperingdeath February 28, 2018 7:45 PM GMT
Sorry

There may be an " Ice Storm " tomorrow. If there is be careful. the roads will be like glass. If the temperatures are seriously below zero tomorrow do not drive!

2 crashes in my family today. and I've been out walking today and the standard of driving is atrocious tbh, a van driver doing 40 round a bend and tipping over was without doubt the most stupidest thing I've seen (only got there after the amazing attempt at rounding a tight bend in frosty conditions though), another bloke knocking someone over when doing 40 on a 20mph road, had to break suddenly because (surprise surprise) a van driver cut him up, ended up mounting the pavement and knocking a woman over the car bonnet, thankfully she was just a few cuts and a hurt leg. I've seen silly attempts at drivers trying to go past a tracter on a small windy road... I mean that's bad enough in very good conditions in summer, but in winter with these conditions?

Who gives some of these idiots their driving licences? its ridiculous lol

Still see people driving like idiots. The bus driver in that clip was probably going too fast. He could clearly the jackass in the car in front of him and had no chance of slowing down to avoid a collision so he tried a swerve and got away with it, hero in this case and not a zero but not far off!

I still see people driving with wheels spinning in first gear! they should not be allowed to walk on pavements let alone drive cars. I see kids playing in snow with trainers on, no boots. I don't blame the kids but the parents are probably the ones that drive in first gear!

Mark my words with temperatures barely around freezing all day there will be carnage tonight if people try and drive if there is an ice storm!

Delivery is 5 days but now held up because of drifting snow, so been stuck at home all week, can't get to work and can't run the heating as trying to preserve what we do have for hot water. Its cold indoors, but we've layered up and actually - it's amazing how quickly you get used to it. Not especially uncomfortable after three days of acclimatizing. I heard one dumb couple caught up in a drift in their car did not have any cold weather clothes, food or drink and were stuck in their car for 16 hours...GOOD!

Lidl supermarket destroyed 'by looters' after snow storm.....

Police in Dublin said on Friday they had made several arrests after an attack on a supermarket hours after the city was hit with its worst snowstorm in decades.

The Lidl supermarket had been looted, according to several Irish media outlets, but police and the owner of the supermarket declined to provide details of the incident.

State broadcaster RTE showed video footage from social media of a mechanical digger pulling down part of a wall of the supermarket.

Another video, posted online by the Irish Independent newspaper, showed people walking away from the back of the store with what appeared to be items from the store.

German discount store Lidl said in a statement there had been a serious incident at its store in southwest Dublin that was being investigated by police. It said the store was closed at the time and no one was injured.
