Thursday, then  freezing for at least a week. Probably snow in South East. Transport due to grind to a halt once that happens, we can't cope with snow.

Beneath this snowy mantle cold and clean
The unborn grass lies waiting
For its coat to turn to green
The snowbird sings the song he always sings
And speaks to me of flowers
That will bloom again in spring

Yes the newspapers were right
Snow was general all over Ireland
It was falling softly on the Bog of Allen
and, further westwards, softly falling into
the dark mutinous Shannon waves
It was falling too upon every part of the churchyard

Coachbuster, it's grim here in South East London as well. I had to wear a jumper when I went to the bakery at lunchtime.

Ditto in West London. I had to think long and hard about wearing a cravat earlier as I braved New Kings Road.

SNOW HELL in 24 HOURS: Whole of UK to be trapped in -10C freezing DOUBLE VORTEX for a week.

TWO colossal swathes of churning, freezing air will close in on Britain over the next 24 hours triggering snow across the whole of the UK and the worst nationwide freeze for six years.
- The Army is on standby to deal with weather-related emergencies over the next few days as Britain braces for the most severe whiteout since 2010.

- The Daily Express.

BBC South-East, "there is a chance of snow settling with possible disruption to road, rail and air travel."

Not very good for tomorrows f/c, bit guessy and less than 24 hours away, seem to be hedging bets, win win either way for them.
That minxy one(weather presenter) gets away with murder, all she was short of saying was i haven't a feckin clue.

Norfolk's suppose to get some snow tomorrow evening, the coldest it's going to get is -1. Then it will all be gone the next day.

I'm glad I never buy any newspapers, I knew most of the headlines are lies.. but  now they're lying about the weather too.Crazy

Slippy blue, flitting between the pub and bakery all day. Time out to walk the beast on the heath. Back to the mansion for a roast with the missus.

How much is spent on weather forecasting? The blizzards/snow promised earlier in the week look a lot like the rainy drizzle which is standard for Manchester

Have a look at this article in the Yorkshire Evening Post..
http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/thundersnow-could-batter-yorkshire-as-weather-warning-issued-for-snow-and-ice-1-8327099

The best line..
But she warned: "Even a centimetre of snow in this country can obviously cause some disruption," adding that there could be "some showers inland, but they are likely to be short-lived".
