Nothing here at present but about to open a can of bud. Ms stew is sleeping as she has work to go to tomorrow. (we have seperate finances) I might follow that with a few Smirnoffs and fresh orange having a touch of insomnia for the past few nights.

Lasted a year when she moved in full time saddo. A gem I may add, (in my eyes) but not best pleased when arriving home from work and I'm on the laptop studying the form for evening racing and telling her a takeaway was ordered.

Plus, even when she's here four days a week I just bump into her in the passing having SKY in the living room for the racing.
She watches her soaps etc in the bedroom on freeview.

Some rose Cava that was open. Then some Kahlua that needed finishing. Then a bottle of Floralis - sweet late harvest. A touch of vermouth. Some left-over red wine (Mud House Pinot Noir). Now a couple of inches of Gin with orange and mango.
It's great news - tomorrow I give up booze and eat healthy. As any fool knows, the first step in abstinence is to drink all the alcohol left in the house. I'm feeling really optimistic this time - how can I fail?
(She's probably slowly poisoning you with arsenic, sb. Has your hair fallen out yet?)
Feeling even more optimistical!

She wouldn't do that bodil but has pased many a comment on my drinking and gambling. A bit rich when I won a right few quid on here one day and bought her a pair of earrings.
'A bit small' she replied. I asked her to look at the certificate of authenticity. She had never had real diamonds before.(even though she could buy and sell me many times over)

Not absolutely certain it's Old School rather than fear of being thought selfish. Whatever, I'll see it to the end. This place acts as a safety valve.
On the other hand, can the old hands on here imagine being with me all the time? As in ALL the time?
Ironically, I do believe it stops them descending into dementia. I prevent my inheritance. Since I'd probably drink/eat/fornicate myself to death in months this has to be a good thing. Right?

Joking aside bodil nobody can prevent dementia. My mother died of it and Ms stew's father has it. I only mention that because it's officially the biggest killer in the UK now, overtaking heart disease and cancer. I've said it before but when I go I hope it's with the latter as to have a wee chance.

A few moments ago I had the answer to all problems regarding family, old age, social support, the NHS and welfare. Then I had a coughing fit and I think it was ejected from one of my nostrils. I'm prodding it suspiciously - and it's emitting the odd squeak but it doesn't look convincing. I'm probably going to flush it - I'm sure I can count on your discretion. Better luck next time.
And disturbing the flow does delay dementia. An active brain stays active for longer. Challenge them.

An active brain stays active for longer. I've heard that before bodil but sadly there is no scientific proof. But hey, what do they know?
All I can say is that it strikes at random. Nobody is immune.

The other 'truth' - older people who live with younger people become physically and mentally younger. Younger people who live with older people visibly age.
There's plenty of scientific proof that an active brain resists ageing. As in shedloads. Make that effort?

Studies done on it say group therapies in older age do better than isolation
Sorry to correct you but once you're diagnosed with dementia it's a one way ticket, regardless of your surroundings.

I can agree with some of that bodil but when dementia kicks in....
Anyways I'm off to have my third large Smirnoff. Will it be the last?
1/3 no, 11/4 yes.

Just saying that isolation leads to desolation in people even in their 50s , I don't wont to get political but Thatcher spiv culture done the world no good ,

this is not the place to get political now anxious, trust me. Many will come back to you and say that although Thatcher closed many mines what wasn't reported was the fact she made sure the miners who were 'paid off' received good lump sums and benefits/pensions.
Meanwhile, China is cutting it's coal production by 30% due to the fact many chinese in the capital have to stay indoors to bteath properly.

I have now poured myself another large Smirnoff whilst trying to take in 'Suits' on 111. Perhaps I will get the gest one day. Meanwhile it's finish the drink and (hopefully) back the last winner today. (not much of a life)
Thankfully the race was studied befofore opening the vodka..
