Multiple fatalities have been confirmed in a shooting at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida. The shooter is in custody, police say.
“Multiple people” were dead, Broward County Sheriff’s Office told the media. At least three deaths were confirmed to WTVJ by federal agents.

"reported he had a gun checked into his bag on flight from canada"

Not sure I'm right but if he had a military ID he would have been allowed to carry a gun (?)

Looks like another one who was 'mentally disturbed', history of mental health issues, said he lost his mind and saw things.

Charged with domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend a year ago. He allegedly verbally abused her in their apartment in while she was locked in the bathroom. Santiago is accused of then breaking down the door and hitting the woman in the head and strangling her. Santiago was arrested days later after fleeing the scene but was released on the condition he stayed away from her.

A mass shooting like this not even headline news any more, on the BBC TV news last night - headline news was Donald Trump and the US hacking scandal, BBC radio news this morning - headline was the crisis in the NHS.

Esteban had attended the FBI office in the Alaskan city of Anchorage and told agents that the government was controlling his mind and forcing him to watch Islamic State videos, a law enforcement official said on condition of anonymity.

George Piro, an FBI agent in charge of the Miami field office, said Santiago had clearly indicated to the Anchorage agents that he was not intent on hurting anyone. The agents notified local police, who took Santiago in for a mental health evaluation.

Still allowed out with a gun, truly unbelievable.

The cause is not the issue, they knew he was unstable recently and did nothing to render him safer to the public.
