Why did a man so clever write a book giving away the secrets of war?

A total genuis that many will never have heard of yet saved 100's of thousands of lives.

Did he need the recognition?

Really hope there was another more righteous reason.

ive not seen his book but is this about how much info we could pass on
without letting them know we had cracked the codes ?

his theories are still used so letting them out is odd , if that is the case

hope its just more smoke and mirrors ....

His book was removed from the shelves and they censored him and threatened him with jail.
All this after he basically won the war and saved thousands of lives. Then helped the yanks with his wisdom

They were still using his ideas at the time and still do to this day albeit in a more advanced way of course.

Sounds like a true genuis/hero. That's what makes it hard to take that he sold out for self importance/recognition.
Hopefully some bright spark can shed more light on his reasons as there doesn't seem much online
