I once did 72 hours straight -- the firm paid for a cab home. These days I can barely stay awake long enough to get out of bed in the morning.

There were a couple of Indian Guys labouring in the same factory as above Ellinsons Circlips who did 36 hr straight shifts
which is totally against health and safety laws at the time. The stairs in the old  Victorian building had a warning sign
"Danger oil on stairs" they were coated in oil!..I once arrived there to do my shift and was met by 3 fire engines who
were potting a fire out the place looked like a bomb site. The firemen all had breathing masks and when I opened the doors to
get in the workers from the last shift were waiting for the clock to hit 6 before clocking out..unbelievable!..Think the
company went bust after moving from Harden Bridge to Steeton or maybe it was Silsden..

The most 84 hour week, 7 x 12 hour shifts working for an Agency. Mon to Fri 7pm until 7am normal week single hour pay, Saturday 7pm until 7am 1.5 hours pay and Sunday 7pm until 7am 2 x hours pay. You could not get the Sat and Sun pay unless you worked the Mon to Fri. I did 4 weeks non stop 28 shifts in a row and then quit. So 28 x 12 without a day off 336 hours. The hardest shift was 60 hours , I worked 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts. I ended up doing 3 x 12 hour shifts and 24 hour shift as the 5hit hit the fan and as a Manager at the time you didn't leave until everything was ok. On the same day my Manager worked almost 30 hours without a break.

"On the same day my Manager worked almost 30 hours without a break."

And when we got home, his Dad would slice him in two with a bread knife. If he were't LUCKY! LaughLaughLaugh

Logistics, new contract didn't work out the impact correctly on going from the Start up to supplying all of their outlets. I won't name the company that did us over, but my company I worked for trying to fulfil their orders was. Rearrange these letters to form a well known Logistics Company. L H D.

Fairly sure I've done over 80. It was entirely voluntary, double time at weekends (kerching!) and was saving for something.
If you are doing around 12 hour days and work weekends it soon adds up.
I may still have the payslips but I can't be bothered looking... My work ethic has declined somewhat WinkBlush.

Well yes. When you're wanting the money and the work is there and it isn't forever you can just put your head down and drive through it, and you keep your eye on the prize.

I don't think I could be the sort you hear about who do say 55+ hours a week every week as your life ebbs away, that would be the killer. Life's too short.

LOL the spirits must be sending a message, as soon as I posted that "Old Man" by Neil Young comes on randomly with perfect timing.

I have never worked 24 hours in a day but have clocked more than that for a days work before.
