As the Labour party and the media heaped criticism upon her, Abbott also ran into problems with her own constituency. Activists in Hackney tried to have her removed from Parliament because she spent too much time in the U.S. and Jamaica, and that she did not adequately defend the interests of blacks and immigrants in Hackney.
Ironically, this accusation came while the Times dismissed her as a “one-issue MP,” whose first speech in Parliament denounced Britain’s racist immigration policies. Along with her blunt speeches in Parliament, Abbott is known for her strong language, as the Times has observed, in the middle of a literary allusion she is likely to break into “those words which the press denotes with asterisks.” The same newspaper has described her as “smallish, chubby, and outgoing, the sort of person you would ask for advice if you were lost.” (if you want to stay lost) Abbott’s own description of herself, quoted in Parliamentary Profiles, read, “I have a short neck, waist, and legs and very square shoulders, and I’ve always yearned to be a willowy Somalian woman; I’m always on a diet.” (and Graham Norton still wants to be a T.N.A. wresting champion) Nevertheless, as Parliamentary Profiles observed, “Her only truly outsize attribute is the massive chip on her shoulder.” |

In 1996
Abbott was criticised after she claimed that at her local hospital "blonde, blue-eyed Finnish girls" were unsuitable as nurses because they had "never met a black person before". Abbott's apology came as Marc Wadsworth, executive member of the Anti-Racist Alliance, who is half-Finnish, pointed out that the current Miss Finland, Lola Odusoga, is black, of Nigerian and Finnish descent. "She's a black Finn like me," he said. Abbott's position was supported by fellow Labour MP Bernie Grant: "Bringing someone here from Finland who has never seen a black person before and expecting them to have to have some empathy with black people is nonsense. Scandinavian people don't know black people, they probably don't know how to take their temperature." Comedy gold from Grant, that was. |

On 4 January 2012
Abbott tweeted that: "White people love playing 'divide and rule'. We should not play their game", which again led to widespread criticism including accusations of racism. Only after being told by the Labour Party leadership that the comment was unacceptable did she apologise for "any offence caused", claiming that she had not intended to "make generalisations about white people". The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg called her comments a "stupid and crass generalisation". Nadhim Zahawi, Conservative MP, said: "This is racism. If this was a white member of Parliament saying that all black people want to do bad things to us he would have resigned within the hour or been sacked." True dat... |

Now for the latest catalogue of known errors (who knows what will be uncovered next)
http://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/written-questions-answers-statements/written-question/Commons/2016-06-24/41141/ Bit of a shame that the place she asked about is not in Indonesia, (it’s in the Philippines) but you can’t be expected to get everything right when you’re on £67k p.a. plus ludicrous expenses, can you? |

Never mind, she did a lot of good via her very own Diane Abbott Foundation for the “poor boys in Africa”
They raised £35,000. This explains where the money was wisely spent. http://heatst.com/world/diane-abbott-spent-30k-of-charity-cash-on-parliament-awards-bash/ |

The Shadow Home Secretary who once said she wanted to “dismantle” the “police, armed services, judiciary and monarchy” refuses to say if she’ll swear loyalty to the Queen.
As front benchers normally become Privy Councillors they are required to swear allegiance to the Queen. Diane Abbott Won't Say If She'll Swear Allegiance to Queen - Guido Fawkes ^^^ that works in a browser |

Diane Abbot is what ex-lover and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn deems to be a suitable person for the front bench.
I’ve seen people with more intelligence drinking Special Brew on a park bench. Vote UKIP |
