That thread being beside the one about the populist banning of unregistered airguns in scotland by, what do you know, self important lefties, the same lefties who also recently wanted an East German (note: also leftie) style child control scheme that was so bad the european courts stopped it. I love the idea of open minded liberal theory and analysis. The problem is that 40 years ago some of this was practiced at University level

go and read my favourite newspaper while people are being massacred all over, the guardian leads with OPINION pieces about sexism, racism and safe spaces whilst forgetting there are elements 'abroad' as we say, who are hell bent on eradicating the liberal backed theory and practices that uphold said non sexist, non racist stances and laws. I like the bit in Charlie Brookers Wipe show the other day where, even though I'd guess he's a bit of a leftie and a remainer, he had a good witty dig at the way the BBC journalists (the channel he was on) were pretty vicious with the "you're a racist" angle at people who were for leave. Good on him. You'd never get the up-themselves unfunny pillocks on "the last leg" taking the p1ss out of their own "side" like that in amongst all their santimonious rants. But if someone like him stuck his head up now he just wouldn't get into print let alone a space on tv look how they ran with the 250,000 facing mayhem and death in allepo with people supposedly broadcasting from the city while reporting on facts on the turkish border!!! the 250000 came down to thousands at the finish maybe 35000 not that that wasn't of grave concern but it was the moral panic and then the fact that those who had backed the rebels were panicking coz they were losing just one example of media editorial and political bias |
