I saw the footage of haydock on Sky news - I also heard the stewards have a little difficulty deciding the winner?
Couldn't they supply a spray hose - a mist'er to spray over the finishing line to try and take away the fog?
I know it would work for smoke, not sure about fog. it might be a solution for the future.

3-15 at Haydock yesterday the commentator on C4 couldn't see the finsih and didn't realize the race had even finished until he just managed to see some horses pulling up, then it took some time after to announce the result, stewards probably had to ask the jockeys who had won.
 The whole situation was a farce and should never have raced. |
