Spartacus 100 today

I thought Kirk Douglas died a few years ago,if not then Good luck to the fella.

Nope he's till pottering about.

My fave film performance by him would probably be his portrayal of Van Gogh in Lust For Life.I've not seen that film for about 20 years,by the way.

The Vikings or Champion for me..

Thanks,guinness2dear for mentioning The Vikings because you brought home to me a lovely remembrance of being a child and absolutely loving the main musical theme from the film.I also remember The Vikings as being the very first film that i ever actually watched on television.

The best actor for me, so many great films. Spartacus, Lust for Life, Paths of Glory, Build my Gallows High, Young Man With a Horn, Champion, The Bad and The Beautiful etc.

Lonely are the Brave on Film 4 this aftenoon is his personal fav, not to keen on it, especially what happens to the horse.

The grim reaper has had a full net this year , but he ain't got Spartacus.

he was good in The Great Escape

Paths Of Glory produced a classic performance, great film.

A true Hollywood giant. When being a film star, meant something very special.
