I've heard from people that Mcafee is not worth paying for. I use free AVG, never had an issue.

This. Anti virus programs are the past. Had no issue only using Windows Defender, but then again, I don't use dodgy sites. |

Bought a laptop for the missus with McAfee running on it.
After so long you had to send McAfee some money to keep their protection running. I went on it a few weeks ago and discovered that the free McAfee period had run out 61 days ago. I also discovered that McAfee had switched off Windows Defender the free programme that comes with Windows 10. So the computer had been running without any protection for 61 days. McAfee wouldn't let me switch on Windows Defender, so I removed McAfee and got Defender going. All is now well. Why anyone subscribes to these catch-penny programmes is a mystery. |

And by the way.
Most of the virus's that are created on the internet, are created by Anti virus companies themselves. |

I have never used an anti virus(except in those days when it was cool to download a free antivirus).
In fact I have always used a pirated windows. The above combination, together with a little awareness of browsing habits, is deadly for viruses. Anti Viruses DO NOT WORK. Viiruses will never go away. You will be hit by one sooner or later no matter what. |
