Had his face wiped in the London mayoral election in a two horse race with allegations of dirty tricks to boot and now get shown up by an 'unimaginably drab' lib democrat MP while attempting to be a martyr for a single cause.
Well it quite likely killed his career so effectively he did become a martyr.
