Serial killer Stephen Port guilty of murders of three men

Kind of off the point but why does the Guardian need to tell us he was a serial killer in the same headline that says he murdered three people? Surely most Guardian readers went to university so they'll be able to figure it out for themselves.

It's as bad as the tabloids saying evil rapist, as if without the word evil, their readers might think that rape is an honourable pastime like knitting socks for orphans.

Also the LGBTI mob will be going berserk saying why does it say he killed 3 gay men and not just men

Not sure what the problem is here. I am pretty sure that he will get the appropriate sentence which, from what I know of the case which is as reported in the paper, life with no chance of parole.
The guy would appear on the reported facts to be in need of treatment which doesn't seem to be popular on here sometimes. What has the sexuality of him or, speculatively,  his victims got to do with anything?

I'd say quite a lot seeing as if they were straight they would be alive today.

Ditched the bodies outside his flat. Must be some police force in that area.

Killing three people doesn't necessarily mean a person is a serial killer in the correct use of the term. Had he killed 3 people at once he would more likely be classed as a mass murder than serial killer.
