You are probably right about leaving it to Pence. It would be in line with what Kasich said about when Trump sounded him out for the VP slot; more significantly it is in line with Trump's campaign where his policies were all over the place, and often retracted or reversed within a few days.

there's a rather obvious problem for trump, in that in a sh1t-slinging campaign he can get away with all sorts of bullsh1t, and not have to worry too much about what he says because it's all about how awful hillary is (and "gina")
The moment he starts to try to be serious and considered, and there's no opponent to divert everyone's gaze onto, his shortcomings become extremely vivid.

but not to plenty of those who were voting for him.
Crisp = can't be long until people start calling him Donald Shart.
to neutrals and those opposed to him, of course.but not to plenty of those who were voting for him.Crisp = can't be long until people start calling him Donald Shart.
All along I think Trump was aiming to be second, never thinking he would actually win ! He said stuff that would have been the end for any other candidate, but he knew it would get the press headlines.
So the end result which back-fired dramatically was like a comedy sketch gone wrong ! I just don't think he actually expected to win. And that speech when he was on stage with all his family, he didn't seem like someone who really expected to end up winning. But he appealed to normal working classes who were really p1ssed off with politicians, plus the fact a lot of Americans hate Clinton. And a definite trend this year for shock results, Corbyn, Brexit, and now Trump !

"Er....Corbyn was not a shock result this year !!!"
I meant when he was 100-1 to become leader of the Labour party, but that was last year wasn't it, not this year, sorry.
And not sure he actually wanted the job anyway, just like Trump, never really expected to win.....
