All off of the back of the tax payer yet again, these freeloading scroungers have no shame, they must laugh at ordinary working class people going to work to pay for their upkeep.
They should be fazed out.
The French had no qualms ridding their country of theirs, there's no lack of planes touching down in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport full of tourists. They can keep the palace their but open it up as a museum.

I'm no royalist but it's nowt compared to our share of the chunk just given by the EU to the fascist Erdogan.
The Queen does a great job for the country- brings in millions of pounds every year.
So this seems fair enough.
So this seems fair enough.
Huge numbers of people from around the world visit the UK as they are fascinated with the Royal Family in general.
Buckingham Palace pays for itself and more in tourism. £370m does seem excessive though!
I've never agreed with the concept of royalty, but I'm happy to ignore it for the sake of the money that I think it probably brings into the country.

If there was no Royal Family, people would still come to see Buckingham Palace, she doesn't stand on the balcony every day waving to them.
How much does she owe know in Bedroom Tax? people with disabled children having to fight in court over losing 14 quid a week they can't afford to lose whilst she has a spare 800 rooms or so.

The logic is more people come because of the global publicity that the Royal family generates worldwide, not because she waves from the balcony.
The argument against the Royal Family is one of principle. There will be more money to go around the country including the poor with a Royal family so that argument for practical purposes doesn't stand up.
The Queen receives an annual grant worth 15% of the Estate’s profits. This year, she received £43 million, while the Treasury was paid £301.4 million.
If the Pharoahs of Egypt hadn't built the pyramids, Egypt would be a lot poorer for it.

Personally I'd rather have a couple of million and be able to do what I want without people talking about me and following me round, than have 200 million and have all the sh1t that goes with it, so I don't begrudge the individuals either. It's just I find the concept distasteful. In the same way that I don't dislike Muslim, but find the theology and belief systems behind it horrible. It doesn't stop people fawning over and idolising both but that is entirely up them.
dead or alive, tourism is Britain would not be hit.
announced on the same day as Children in Need

Facts looking forward to the day Buck Pally becomes the biggest mosque in town
The establishment is just two fingers to the working class.
wait a while, the world is coming to an end(a new beginning), we can save some money.

I think we should just let Buck house slowly fall down, or perhaps burn down when the ageing electrics give up, maybe with the Queen in it?

Tis over 10 years and excellent value for one of the most iconic buildings in the world.
I totally agree with you, the Tories are scum. Yet incredibly the working class people keep voting for them Sad
Because labour didn't offer the referendum.
The working class want out of the EU.

Scandi blowing a fuse here
Don't ye know that the Crown Estates owned by the Queen bring in over £200m per year to the treasury.

Actually we aint. The Crown Estates generate over £200m profit and the Queen retains a %age of it.
Could do without that pesky EU and their unelected beaurocrats. We need to get out let our own judges - oh no, scrap that - our own parliament - hang on, erm can we just have Nige and Boris making our decisions for us please. Anyhoo, we need to get out and stop the EU taking our money and distributing round the poorer areas; no let's take that £350M per week and we can re-fit Buckingham Palace and maybe build them a nice new yacht too. Now, who's for a nice GTSQ? If we've got any left I say we give it to Nissan.

Kirsty Allsop wants to burn the palace down with her in it, I want her out not burned alive
People always claims she brings in more than her what the entire upkeep of her family / trips / health costs but the figure is debatable, more to the point, the concept of a Royal Family in 2016 is extremely dated and not in keeping with modern thinking, they have served their time and purpose.

Tis only one five hundredth of the payment to the EU over the 10 years of the refit.
Money well spent in more ways than one.
A Saves an historic building
B Gets right up the collective noses of the moaning left

Kate: There's akabula, he thinks we care about the poor who pay for us, point and laugh at him, he'll never know
No issue with this at all - do a great job, and improves Britains standing in the world. Our Queen must be one of the most famous people in the world, and is respected everywhere. The benefits of a Royal family cannot be reduced to a monetary figure
ripping ach other apart on 5-live now

If we got rid of the royal family......, what would our national anthem be?
Maybe :-
''God save Theresa May,
Long live Theresa May.....''

Give us £185m up front for materials and I can have the lads 'ere on Monday
The upside of all this, is that the money goes to all the workers, and businesses involved.
Unfortunately, and my being cynical, a fair few million will be diverted into the pockets of those in charge!

Young people are brainwashed into believing that some other people are better than them, because they just are. They should bow before them, not question their betters and just stfu. It's insane. What does that cost society? Get them to fck.

Actually we are. It's public money. From the Government's Treasury.
You know, same Tory pot that cannot afford to build Council houses.

Don't the left use the net fiscal positive argument to support immigration? ( although without foreign millionaires, immigrants would be net takers)
Whereas the Royal Family are most certainly net fiscal positives.
Whereas the Royal Family are most certainly net fiscal positives.
That argument only works if by abolishing the royal family we'd also bulldoze Buck Pal, Windsor Castle etc etc.
I'm pretty sure people still bother to visit Versailles, Alhambra and even the likes of the Forbidden City and various old buildings of the Romans or the Medicis despite those families/dynasties no longer being around.

George III had huge debts, so offered Parliament a deal. In exchange for a fixed salary, the land being maintained by the tax payer and the debts being wiped, Parliament would get the rent from the lands.
Today, that salary is around £40m a year, which sounds like a lot, until you realise the rent is £200m a year, which means Parliament pays in £1 and gets £5 back. Seems like a good investment to me.
Now, this repairing business has to be done, but only about once every 50 years, which means the tax payer is paying 4% of what the royal lands will pay them. Doesn't seem unreasonable.
And this is before we start talking about tourism.
As for why we don't just cut the royals out, they still own the land. Yes, it's held for them by a company (Royal land trust iirc), but they still own it. It is their property. Stop paying them their salary and they can just take back the rent, on the lands which they legally own.
