they were expecting 1.2 to 1,3 this month,so you,d expect experts who were miles out predicting 4 weeks in advance, not to insult us with their predictions for 12,18 months time, when was the last time these experts were right on any figure

on another big bear subject of mine the experts, pundits are always on tv saying we,ve got be more productive, but how do they measure that
with the top 1% of the country producing the bulk of gdp and paying most tax but lots of these are sportsmen, entertainers, working 2 hrs a day or week or city boys, fund managers pressing buttons on a screen etc,the stuff you could possibly get better at,at the margins is all otsourced to the far east, plus the largest part of the economy is services how do you measure productivity in services, are the old ways of measuring these things now defunct |

seen the bbc and sky camera,s in 2 factorys this week asking them how there reacting to possible price increases and tariffs on their goods, both said they were going to source cheaper materials and cheaper transportation of their goods ,as so called astute buisnessmen shouldnt they have been doing this as part of their jobs with or without brexit

sometimes you are happy with a price as it allows a profit
and you are happy with supplier if supplier lifts price above that which you are happy and wont play ball its time to look elsewhere or go under no guarantee new supplier will be as good as last but original suppliers price means you go under not a good place to be |

A fact of business life donny, complacency closes down many businesses when they sit back and savour their success.

depends on when and how companies agree deals to import.
id imagine small companies do shorter term deals but big companies agree deals more in advance. things will become clearer in time. |

fk off - it already has.
it's at ten at least. i have an old bus ticket from 2007, my journey cost me 70p. Now today they charge you £2.10 for the same journey. WTF is that? deflation? a bar of chocolate is 80p FFS. Go buy a cup of coffee and take some friends with you and pay for them all? FFS. they are hiding it... shaving the contents of boxes. Toblerone just shaved their chocolate down to 150g from 170g. that's inflation being hidden. they used to shave the coins when they were Gold and silver. less costing more. JOKERS. |

Remember pre-recession when you could buy a loaf of bread for 15p, tin of beans for 8p and a bar of branded chocolate was about 30p. Crisps are 70p nowadays! Joke.
The reason given at the time was high fuel prices but since they've fallen not seen much of a drop. The price of food literally doubled overnight. |

i just shop at home bargains - they have their prices adjusted to pre inflation. Golden wonder crisps are 20p. chocolate is reasonably priced if you need it too.
red salmon at a pound. tesco sells you shares on a tin if you want it. |

Dunno where you lot shop.
70p for crisps? You can buy a bag of a dozen packets of crisps for a quid. 10 bags of Chit Chat's favourite snack Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard £1.50 at B & M Bargains. You can buy 4 chocolate bars for £1. If you shop around I would say that food has never been so cheap in real terms. |

thats why inflation numbers are a joke these days and mean nothing, inflation went up 2 months ago due to high end holidays and overnight stays in posh hotels WTF are they doing in an inflation basket,it should be lives essentials only, even then everyones inflation is different,on food most people could throw half their basket out at the checkout and not miss it,if inflation got really bad people would just leave a few items out of their basket to compensate, they could put take away prices up every week but people just carry on buying more and more
