Clay County Development director Pamela Ramsey Taylor made the following tweet following Donald Trump's election as president, saying:
"It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I'm tired of seeing a Ape in heels."

Taylor says she has been reprimanded at her job and is unsure whether she will be able to keep her position. She was also on Clay County's pageant festival committee but tells WSAZ she does not hold any leadership positions in pageantry.
Taylor says she is working with her attorney to file a lawsuit against individual(s) who have slandered her. She says she is sorry for everything that has happened but says she now believes the situation has turned into a "hate crime against me." always the victim ... |

One thing I do not wish to see is Michelle Obama being bigged up to be the next line of family dynasty when it comes to US Presidents,we have had enough of this progression,selection needs to be on merit,I know the irony in that comment. How long before Cherie Blair gets a safe Labour seat ???

Distasteful comments indeed from one lady about another. The less time that public officials spend Twittering their eagerly unawaited thoughts the better. No surprise to learn that disciplinary action was swift.
Interesting that the BBC should be quite so vexed about this story and consider it quite so newsworthy. Particularly so of course in the context of the everyday Hate Speech emerging daily from the Left In Britain and America following the Brexit vote and Trump election win. Last night, for example, the BBC's very own 'Newsnight' programme featured a very young Muslim woman living in New York describing the new President-elect as a "fascist racist demagogue" along with any number of other ludicrous sweeping statements, none of which appear to feature in BBC News headlines today. Staggeringly, her many extraordinary claims (all delivered with an admirably straight face) went completely unchallenged, and were allowed to pass as fact. |
