The guy is a showman. From the beginning he said whatever he wanted and hung in there no matter what guff the press threw at him.
No such thing as bad press.
I believe he was just using the race as a gigantic PR exercise for the TRUMP brand.
It's backfired and he's actually won? Up to the end he was behind and I think he was aiming for second.
Clinton spent five times more... He wasn't matching her, as he was watching the bottom line.
He said stuff that would end any other candidate's race. Just to get the press headlines.
I think If he really thought he had a chance to win he wouldn't have slammed the Mexicans and Half the stuff he said.. It's like a comedy sketch gone wrong.

there's a Richard Pryor film - Brewster's Millions - vote NONE of the above. He ends up winning too.

I don't think he expected to get the Republican nomination.

Once that happened he had to go for it, no turning back.

i put a pound on him in September 2015. I remembered all the jokes about Reagan running. I wish I'd kept my original course and put a quid a week on him. But talked myself out of it. I started looking at Bernie Sanders and went heavy there. Hilary nobbled him with Debbie W Schultz. Democrats knew Bernie would have been a better candidate , he tested better against Trump. The Money Train was with Hilary though and now they get nothing but Lord Trumpington and his Dark Lords.

Yes, I thought that he just used the platform of the campaign trail to get his views across to the masses, but I'm wondering now if he regrets any of it as he may not have actually EXPECTED to win!

No.

He's been talking about running for presidency since the early 80's in various interviews.

He is is a multi billionaire, he doesn't need the money or the publicity, given how much he's derided the muslim world, he's much less likely to sell property to them anymore.

election miscounts between Hilary and Sanders. Debbie was meant to be an impartial party that overseen the elections for the democrats - was she FK. she was forced to resign after.

Trump won because he appealed to the"normal working classes" not Clinton's completely out of touch "Limousine Driving Liberals"
I mean Clinton couldn't care less as example... the American Steelworkers/Rustbelt by allowing cheap Chinese Steel to be dumped onto the American Market...undercutting Americam Manufacturing costs by 50% (?).
Not to mention all the Wars started by America in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria etc ...all happened on hers and Obamah's watch.
Clinton heavily backed by the corrupt American Bankers, Arms and Energy Industry.
Then there's the EMail scandal, Clinton Foundation accused of "money laundering" ...you could go on and on ...so much not to like about Hilary...Devil
The "majority" American Public saw through it all and TRUMP won !
