I believe they split the royalties for writing, that is why he has been happy living a life of leisure in Cornwall without the media hassle.

Who gets Queenie Watts and Wilfred Hyde-White's royalties for their controversial 1985 Xmas chart-topping smash "I Hope You Have a F***ing Rotten Christmas And Get A**S You Absolute C***yb*ll*x of a S***house" ?

They certainly bankrolled Wilfred's gambling for a good few years before he tragically died in the Falklands.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten that, thank you B-B.

Remember seeing QW and WHW singing that Xmas classic duet 'live' in that long-lost Newham Pub, 'The Dog and Human Rights Lawyer" a few years back. Moved me to tears it did. They had Tommy Ramone guesting on drums,  Fyfe Robertson on tenor sax  and Che Guevara on bass clarinet. Groovy.

Oh NO !!!

Another name from my boyhood gone forever.  RIP.

B-B, I'm so glad it was YOU who broke the news to me, what with your close connections to this much-loved man of Swadlincote.

Here he is at his most unforgettable.

He was actually my favourite of the GB heavyweights in that late 60s early 70s crop.

he was a nice bloke but he just wasn't disciplined enough, as soon as he had a bit of cash it was booze and birds. My great grandad was one of the trainers at the Royal Oak, and he said Jack had an older brother who was even better but he just had no interest in going pro.
