Senior Moment..
Very happy Birthday Roy. |

Always loved Roy's music.
espérons que vous êtes en pleine forme de fines, Tambers. |

Oh, he's 70 today! Bit slow there.

There was some doubt about Roy's age....Wiki has him as 69 today...which I'm sure is right. See Accrington beat Bradford ...didn't know who to support. |

When the match was being played, I was in Lloyds Wetherspoons pub near the City Hall (Where the National and Provincial Building Society was) I was telling a chap that the last time I saw Accrington at Valley Parade, it ended 4-5. I looked up the date later. It was 19th Sept 1959.

Mitchell Your Dad or someone must have taken you to the game back then considering your advanced years. My stepdad took me to Turf Moor in the 50's though I had no enthusiasm at that time, but looking back I can say it was a cherished memory. Sat on his shoulders in the massive crowds back then I saw the legends... Finney Mathews Lawton... Oh well....Do miss the Alhambra...so some class stuff there in the early 70's. Surprised no one has responded re Ron Wood.... saw The Move at Nelson Imp in 1967..and was with him afterwards.. nearly died laughing when he was on TV with early ELO with a proper Monkey head on. |

My dad had been dead 6 years in 1959, Tambers.
Turf Moor was a special place at that time. I got taken by an uncle at Skipton to see them a few times around 59-61, as I've maentioned before. |

I had an idea that your Dad went early..
Do Pudsey St. Lawrence still play cricket up your way I remember they had a good team back in the "Johnny Wardle era". |
|
By:
Yes, he went at 53. Served in WW1, although not actively. Must make me a contender for the youngest living person to have a dad in 1914-18 war. I hace the cerificate upstairs.
PSL still going strong I'm pretty sure. I play in a quiz in Pudsey most Sundays. |

Used to do the Quiz League in Shipley....went in ready to alert the world to a new genius.
Usually had 3 pints ahead of the game....how did the memory subside afterwards...you ..if I know you must have gone there. |

Hey Tambours, Bob got what he deserved - well, they've given it to some who are pretty hard to like/love/understand. Good to see him jerking them about.

My God Libido...
Deep meadows yet, for to forget The lies, and truths, and pain?… oh! yet Stands the Church clock at ten to three? 140 And is there honey still for tea? |

Ernest Dimnet's book THE ART OF THINKING lit a candle in my dark portals...
Not that you care you illusionist come back with something daft... |

I also love to be sincere. You can please all of the people all of the time.

We are all just foraging around for food ...aren't we blessed..
Adieu! adieu! thy plaintive anthem fades Past the near meadows, over the still stream, Up the hill-side; and now 'tis buried deep In the next valley-glades: Was it a vision, or a waking dream? Fled is that music:—Do I wake or sleep? |

They are not long, the days of wine and roses,
Out of a misty dream Our path emerges for a while, then closes Within a dream. |

In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you.
Nobel Prizewinner Robert Zimmerman. I'll be going now you... |
