You can't be happy if you are on anti depressants, I'm sure the drugs help to alleviate the effects of depression but I doubt it makes them happy, as if depression can be got over like that

Danish people are perverse and get a lot of pleasure seeing there fellow citizens depressed. Like Remainers moaning about good news. |

Because the two aren't related? Mental Illness perhaps not as taboo in Denmark as other places and people with depression are more inclined to be open with the medical profession?
[i]Danes enjoy a high standard of living and the country ranks highly in some metrics of national performance, including education, health care, protection of civil liberties, democratic governance, prosperity and human development.[11][12][13] The country ranks as having the world's highest social mobility,[14] a high level of income equality,[15] is the country with the lowest perceived level of corruption in the world, has one of the world's highest per capita incomes, and one of the world's highest personal income tax rates.[16] Easy to see why. Also best provision for cyclists in the world (keeps those endorphins flowing), reasonably low immigration levels, reasonably low population density for a country with no mountain ranges, deserts, freezing places must all help |

From memory from my brief lessons in Sociology the most important component in happiness and was the perception of fairness. Denmark seems the number one country in the world for that.

Something is clearly amiss. They pay high taxes, have miserable weather and take a lot of anti depressant drugs. What's wrong is the factors they consider in the World Happiness report, whilst fairness, low levels of crime and corruption is all well and good, if you need medication to get through the day, week, month and year then I can't see how you can be called the happiest country in the world. You simply have to take into account the way the people are actually feeling, and fairness is obviously not enough given how much medication they take.

if the smile of Sidse Babett Knudsen doesnt make you happy nothing will. but the realisation that she will never be yours may make you depressed.
