and my favourite the Pogues fairy tale of New York...
although I noticed that it may have been `Inspired` by a piece written for mandalan in the 1600s that I heard on the radio about a year ago! I forget the name of the piece, no one else seems to have noticed the similarity |

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - 'Brompton Oratory'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6y_Pwijy1k So many of his to chose from though, concerning doubts and fears over religion. U2 - 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3-5YC_oHjE Not a fan, but genuinely jealous of the quality of the lyrics. The verses about running to Kingdom Come and carrying the cross of his shame are the best I've ever heard about Salvation. The Beach Boys - 'God Only Knows' still strikes me as almost religous, with the choir of angelic harmonies in the final minute |
