I watched the first 15 mins of the first one Dr. that was all I could hack, it just was not funny at all. I would have put money on it not being given a 2nd series.

It's good of the programme makers to provide background laughter.

Otherwise we wouldn't know when to laugh.

If the show is on TV, it most probably makes money. You may not like it but many do(maybe only indians) but that's a big enough market for the people making this show to ignore what brits think about the series.

Anyway; Episode One spoiler alert....

Citizen Khan's cousin, a cab driver in Rotherham, arrives at the Khan residence on the run from the police and with 5 xx year old xxxxs in the back of his cab for a "party" with hilarious consequences as Citizen Khan gets implicated in underage %*^&")...

Apologies... some of this synopsis appears to have been redacted for some reason. Mischief

Should read " 5 6 year old rabbits in the back of his cab" and "underage drinking" as his 28 year old cousin came over from Calais disguised as 12 year old child refugee "with hilarious consequences when he turned up with a bottle of Jack Daniels".

Use of the word 'maybe' was the clue that I didn't know much about the programme.

But my point still stands and anyone with a decent brain would have understood it.

Have they caught that knifeman in Frankfurt yet, detraveller? Don't know if they are deliberately keeping it quiet or whether these attacks are so commonplace that no one bothers any more.

This programme has a devoted fan club on Chit Chat, but it seems that not everyone shares our, erm, passion for it.

Hard to imagine I know, but the creator and star of the show has gone public about receiving death threats about the programme.

I don't know how many individuals have been pursued by police for their ugly threats, but for the star's safety I think it's best this programme should be buried under a huge rock and never be seen again. (Just as 'The Black and White Minstrel Show' was)

Most curiously of all, those who have made the death threats are said to be followers of a well-known Peaceful Religion.

In the summer of 2010, Ray joined BBC Radio 5 Live as part of their cricket coverage, travelling to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to cover the 2011 Cricket World Cup. He can often be heard presenting the 5 Live late night show. Ray continues to make documentaries for BBC Radio 4 including recently 'The Real Mr Khan' a documentary looking into the role of community leaders. Ray also tackled the issue of sex and grooming in the British Pakistani community in a BBC Radio 4 documentary entitled The Sex Lives of British Pakistanis that broadcast on 4 July 2011.

Ray covered the issue of grooming on a highly acclaimed BBC Three documentary in December 2011 – Exposed: Groomed For Sex.

....and they were complaining about him doing citizen khan ?

Stand back in awe as some of our MPs enter the debate (including David 'Mastermind' Lammy and Chuka 'The British Obama' Umunna).

That in itself is funnier than the Citizen Khan programme.

I cannot believe this was said!!   Again, the Islamophobic point [Labour MP Chuka Umunna] made, it's a beardy weirdy chap and they're not quite cutting off people's hands but I can imagine that being in a future episode."

This so called comedy,  is the biggest piece of puerile garbage ever broadcast.
It really is utter mindless dross.

Still Game the Scottish comedy has been going since 1999. the
character Navid Harrid looks like the 'inspiration' of this
show. If I was the actor that made Navid Harrid a success in Scotland...
I'd be more than miffed at the success of Citizen Khan in England.

Navid is a class act, I'm surprised there's not been a thread on the new series it's very good.
