My little girl warned to give one of her Xmas gifts to a less fortunate child.
Obviously she was thinking of a toy but I thought food for Xmas day could be good.
Any suggestions of how to do this?
If possible I'd like her to see the results so she can understand the good that can be done.

my mate goes round an old folks home on christmas day,
helps serve dinner and clean up.

he takes two presents, one male one female, for any of the
residents that might not have a present or not have many

he reckons he wouldnt want to do anything else at christmas

That's really nice Donny. Your mate is a good man.

your daughter is right, a toy. that will always be remembered.
Report Aunty Post October 25, 2016 12:06 PM BST
Certainly not food s not very exciting for a child and would be scoffed by everyone else.

A toy or perhaps a book would be good. Perhaps a board game, as they are not particularly age dependant!

The game where you put different coloured discs in, and get it wrong and they fall out. "DownFall" I think....

As for seeing who gets it, I'm not sure how that could be!

I hate threads like this, they are nearly always about the person posting them rather than doing good for anyone. You may know of The Mare & Foal Sanctuary, Capt? I used to do volunteer work in their shop in Bovey Tracey. I don't give up my time at the moment, but still support them financially, do I ever mention it, NO < well I have now, but that was just to make a point Wink

There are a few options and it's not about me it's about educating my daughter so she can see the good people can do.
I work in the retail industry and this time of year the greed and selfishness you see is very off putting.

Dear Makybe_Diva,How are you? I always read your posts because you are one of my favourite chit Chatters but i must just say something to you,if I may.In a comment on this thread you described the crags as a "thoroughly good egg". When you made that description i like to think that your lovely tongue was placed very firmly in your lovely cheek, but if not then i would just like to say this..I've not been here very long posting on this forum but i've been reading it for a few years and in my own formed opinion the craggy fella is anything but a "good egg"..From eggs like him,I'd never make an omelette...Best Wishes to you Diva.Have a lovely day.

Dun laying I agree but being no expert on the best ways to give I was looking for inspiration.
There are many good people on here and some good suggestions which I'm thankful for.
My hope is that my kids will grow up being able to and prepared to help out less fortunate people.

Thanks to everyone for the input.

At least I seem to have exposed your pretendy mr nice guy act.And as for saying that you are a new poster but have been reading the forum for years, not even the most naive would believe that, this is chit chat though, so you might get lucky Crazy

I won't be wasting any more time on you, replying to trolls is so 2006. A guy on here called Bert, clever man like myself, used to reply to people like you and in the end that was all he ever did, as it sadly took up all of his time.

Anyway,if it's OK i just wish to say something to you  about being on chitchat since i joined here in June? Almost without exception,it has been a pleasure to have talked to all the people ive talked to on here, but there is an exception, namely crags.Since I've joined here,he has been almost the only little clever dick that i've met.He has a friend here called Leopard who is also a little clever dick but his d... is not quite as tiny as the tiny little thing that crags has...He is a bullying put down merchant who should have been banned by the forum mods a long time ago.I got the impression that Annie was almost scared to post anything here because of his nastiness.Im going to continue taking the WeWe out of him here because he is a little piece of snot...Regards/Best Wishes to you Diva
