Security has been stepped up around the transport network in London, after a man was arrested over the discovery of a suspect device on a Tube train.
The 19-year-old suspect was detained by armed police on Friday afternoon in Holloway Road, north London. A Taser was discharged during the arrest.
A controlled explosion was carried out on the suspicious item at North Greenwich station on Thursday morning.
A witness to the teenager's arrest described him as white, bearded and wearing a hoodie.

Sounds like the Four Lions school of jihadism. Bomb + wires + clock = Hollywood. But what sort of muppet picks up what they think is a bomb and toddle off with it to the nearest tube driver? |

That's how easy it has become to piss us off. A man with a beard, a woman with a scarf, an unattended bag, someone saying Allah o akbar, someone praying on the street, a bunch of wires and 'possibly a clock'

More information reaching the newswires about the white teenage boy being questioned by Anti-Terror Police. The 'suspect' is alleged to have asked individuals to call him by his, erm, 'Muslim' name. (Oh dear, whatever can have brought that on?). You can be sure that the liberal media won't be doing any such thing though. They will be calling him by his English name and emphasising his Englishness, just as terror suspects in Germany are generally referred to with German-sounding names like Boris Bernhard Steffi Gerd Franz (say the next one quickly, preferably coughing simultaneously) Mohammed Von Schumacher. Still, I'm sure this latest London anti-terror operation is a big silly old misunderstanding, and that there'll be a perfectly innocent explanation. I blame past bullying in the terror hotbed of, erm, Newton Abbott, Devon myself. Damon Smith, 19, who had a distinctive high-pitched voice, also set up fake web profiles posing as women so he could talk with men all over the world. The terror suspect also won £500 playing online poker on the day he allegedly left a crude bomb at North Greenwich station last Thursday. So he's a wannabe muslim (apart from the transvestism and gambling) terrorist -- aka a mentally unbalanced fantasist. The point about mental disorders is not that it's an excuse, just the opposite. It's what makes them dangerous when combined with the delusion that God wants them to blow people up. |

By the way, there is some news around that the guy who did this is called Damon Smith and has claimed it was just a prank, though i dont know how reliable that news is.
