Two 15 year olds (one boy, one girl) plotted to kill a mother and her 13 year old daughter.

The bodies of Mrs Edwards and her daughter were found in their beds on 15 April.

Mrs Edwards was stabbed by the boy eight times, twice in the throat in a deliberate attempt to ensure her daughter was not woken by screams or cries for help. One blow injured her jugular and the other almost completely severed her windpipe.

Katie Edwards was stabbed twice in the neck with severe force before she was smothered by the boy.

In her police interview the girl told officers she had "felt like murdering for quite a while".

She told detectives she and her boyfriend formed their plan on 9 April, four days before the killings, and once the mother and daughter were dead she "felt fine".

The court heard she told police interviewers: "I was OK with it. Just the fact that it happened so quickly gave me peace of mind."

Yet our laws mean that we must protect these 'children' by not revealing their identities.

It is shameful that a mother and daughter have paid the ultimate price for the evil of these two disgusting animals, and they get to remain anonymous. It just is not right.

A disgrace they aren't being named as was the comment from the police about ruined lives and included these two horrible creatures.

This was horrific. They should never be released.

Just one thing: if they were named and at some point let out of prison, wouldn't they be given new identities?

It's perfectly fair that once you have slit the throat and stabbed to death a 13 year old girl you waive the right to be treated like a child with rights to protection.

I would walk from one end of the country to the other to take part in a referendum on whether these two should be put to sleep rather than allowed a normal life in future.

this sort of crime is that inexcusable that these people should be locked up for LIFE and life actually means life. they should never be able to walk the streets of England again. if we can't execute them then this is the next best thing.
