Who is Tim Bernese?
Report PatraTheCat October 16, 2016 2:03 PM BST
The Queen.

Whichever politician manages to feck things up most, be it Trump, Clinton, Merkel, Le Pen, Corbyn...

The Beatles' level of fame will probably decay more slowly than that of other huge bands (e.g. Queen) due to the part they played in kicking off the whole rock thing.

Demis Hassabis.

who remembers Lilly Langtree? she was one of the mega famous folk in Victorian times.

I know two thirty year olds that don't know who Jimmy Cagney was? It's all transitory.

Science tells us the destruction of Mankind will come with time. Either by advanced Robot intelligence or Asteroid strike. All other lifeforms has gone kaput. So nobody will be remembered. (I'm in heaven by then, laughing at the scientists that aren't Christians).

99.9% of the population could be in a supermarket queue behind Tim Berners Lee and not have a clue who he is so doubt he'll be well known in 100 years.

Demis Hassabis. - i was going to post that too Patra.

they'll be someone in immunology/immunotherapy alive today who will be viewed as a Fleming in 100 years time.

Zazu - I assume you are joking. History is littered with people who the present population pay scant regard to while lauding the trivial who are later appreciated for their contributions. (e.g. Van Gogh & Gregor Mendel and whilst Bach was known as an accomplished organist, his status as the greatest ever composer only really came during the Baroque revival about 200 years after his death)

Bieber & Kardashian may feature in some sort of media studies course, but will be otherwise completely forgotton. every child in school will know who berners-lee is.

Stephen Hawking is properly famous and likely to be remembered from a cosmological perspective for what he did for that area of theoretical physics and by everyone else for his success in the face of adversity, all cemented by what he looked and sounded like.

Stephen Hawking has said he's more of a personality and the smartest man in the world tag is unjustified.
'In order for further progress to be made with the M-theory, certain other discoveries must be made first, discoveries which Hawking hopes can be found using the LHC: "There is still hope that we see the first evidence for M-theory at the LHC particle accelerator in Geneva. From an M-theory perspective, the collider only probes low energies, but we might be lucky and see a weaker signal of fundamental theory, such as super symmetry. I think the discovery of super symmetric partners for the known particles would revolutionize our understanding of the universe," voiced Hawking.'

SUPER SYMMETRY has been lampooned recently and the SUSY bet has been paid out between physicists. looks dead. String theory which Professor Hawkings has also spent considerable time on looks ropey too. CERN is destroying all the elegant theories at an alarming rate.

Probably agree (bar Beatles and Dylan)

Mind you a handful of Cinema legends from 100 years ago are still revered today.

The problem with history is we're living through it, people born 50 years ago are still alive and still contributing.

Newton could well have been someone remembered for sending many to their deaths for counterfeiting.

History tells your story but only after they die.

They are too young to make their mark, give then time and history will tell.

The discoverer's of Gravity Waves will be remembered, that has been the most important science discovery for 400 years. I'm sure someone under 50 will be the lead scientist.

Infamous is easier to remember in 100 years, commit mass murder and you will be remembered  Sad

Who will ever remember Andrew Wiles?
