crazy world we live in.
back in the day they would have taken time to wish granddaughter a happy birthday whilst changing your money. probably finding the newest notes they could. i could have written an essay a few years back about the difficulty i had getting a 500 euro note i wanted to give as a present. money laundering, ffs, do me a favour. |

they should be bending over backwards to improve their image for all the scummy things they've been exposed doing, and those things that are still to come.

If your granddaughter is young, do you really want to expose her to the grief of trying to spend a £50 note?

OP is right - you cant even take ya bagged change [ex piggy bank] into Barclays to exchange for notes, as their pwn customer
have to do two transactions - pay in - withdraw - card required ... audit trail they say ... |

Next year you can take a picture of a cheque and pay it into your bank via an App.
There will be no need for staff,it's already happening at Canary Warf. However in my recent experience the turkeys are already voting for Christmas. |
