that "grab them by the P" video has finished trump...........hillary just needs to avoid a major scandal for the next 4 weeks.............i cant believe this is actually happening. hillary has nothing going for her. i dont see any policies from her. the lunatics in the rep party nominated a guy because he said he will deport 11m illegals..............THATS THE ONLY REASON HE GOT THE NOMINATION.............even though he wont be able to deport them.........
american politics is sick..........the country is 20 trillion in debt but this has hardly been mentioned...........yet all they are talking about is an 11 year old video recording a private conversation between two males who have sailed thru life and have probably had plenty of women. yet all the liberals who are freaked out probably love billy boy clinton, despite the fact he made an .85m payment for sexual harassment to Paula Jones............and he had romping sessions with an intern in the oval office...............and when this all came out in the 90's, who defended him.............TRUMP.............he said the women making allegations against bill were losers.............he insulted paula jones..............and then on sunday he flew paula jones and three other women to the debate...................NOW TRUMP LOVES THESE WOMEN AND IS ACTING LIKE A COUNSELOR FROM A RAPE CRISIS CENTRE...............what the heck is this all about?................power at all costs i guess
i can imagine putin and his buddies watching CNN piddling themselves laughing at the trump video.........those americans, think its a scandal to talk about grabbing a womans p.........saudi princes with their 10 wives and 100 live in mistresses..........they probably eat their corn flakes off the p............

Getting back for a moment to the original subject of this thread, the profoundly depressing 2016 Race to the White House, let's not forget that the 2008 and 2012 renewals were also fully worthy of the description "American Politics is sick".
The liberal media (so vexed by Donald Trump in 2016) doesn't like to mention it but on both previous occasions the winning candidate clearly won by means of Racist Voting. If that's not disturbing I don't know what is, particularly when one reflects on "Racism" seemingly being the most important Crime in Modern Life.

A staggering 95% of African-Americans (i.e. Americans) voted for Obama in 2008 . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008#Voter_demographics
In 2012 the percentage of that demographic voting for Obama was 93%. . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2012#Voter_demographics
There are many other online sources but Wikipedia is as relevant as any others.
Those percentages are completely off the charts. It is impossible to believe all those voters were casting their vote for Obama's policies.
The number of black voters taking part in US elections for the first time in 2008 and 2012 was a very good thing, widely welcomed by all. No-one made any secret of the fact that they weren't registering to vote for McCain and/or Romney. Those votes were surely a major factor in electing Obama.
Do we think it's a good thing for voters to elect a candidate though because of racial and/or religious reasons? Personally I don't.

Well if Donny were to be elected he will probably do so on the back of white voters almost exclusively,i think he will probably get less than 15 per cent of the Black vote, you have to ask yourself why this is?

is it possible that in every future election 95% of African Americans would vote for a black candidate, regardless of his or her policies? if the opportunity was there.

yes is is possible, even likely? this is why democracy is not really about votes. it is impossible to have democracy unless people are of the same religion, and race and share the same fundamental beliefs. democracy is essentially exclusive, not inclusive.

Is voting democrat in the US similar in its way to voting for labour in Britain. yes in some ways black American and working class British voters may well be voting for a party that will be determined to purse policies that are against their interests. It was the labour party that allowed mass immigration, thus pushing down wages and conditions for the very people that vote for them. very strange.

So, a long track-record of racistly voting for the Democratic party. The highest percentage of black votes for Republican candidates was the 15% achieved in 1968, by Richard 'Not-a-Crook' Nixon, and 1976, by Gerald 'Not-as-famous-as-his-wife' Ford. (Interestingly, 'black party affiliation', whatever that means, saw an increase from 4% Republican in 2008, to 16% in 2012, the highest figure in any of the years listed above.)
Why did I stop at 1968, you may ask?
1964 94%.

Obama has not turned out to be the messiah black America hoped for, in fact the living standards of the black working class has plummeted in the last 8 years. There are polls out there showing Trump's support is as much as 25% among black voters, although I'm sure Hillary fans will say they have been massaged. The Democrats are still bricking themselves that they will lose despite everything they have thrown at Trump, yesterday Obama even called on the Republicans to "officially" ditch Trump (which they cannot do anyway) because they are still worried. The world is entering one of those dangerous periods that occur every so often what with the Syrian problem, Clinton would never negotiate with Russia she despises them (despite the money she has had given for their foundation) and that is dangerous.

now we have just had a referendum for change. People are not happy with immigration, they are not happy with being told what to do by any other power outside the sovereign power of the UK. now lets see what changes in the next year or two. because there is no need for a prolonged period when nothing is done and nothing is decided. These issuses sre not complicated, they are simple...but nothing will happen.

I genuinely haven't taken any notice of the polls, BB. But, given the statistics that I quoted, from the same source that alun2005 derived his, I'd be a little surprised if the 15% peak of the last 50 years jumped to 25% this time.
I find it very hard to believe that black America has been voting overwhelmingly Democratic for half-a-century, just waiting for Donald Trump to come along and represent their best interests.

its like this, we leave and then we negotiate trade deals. immigration was the major reason people wanted to leave...if they want to muddy the waters on this issue then they will not be following the logic of what the British people want...if they are so deceptive that they will try and pretend this is not so then hold an referendum asking this. and then again wait for the verdict.

no we leave, that has been decided regardless. thereafter the question is will the tory or labour government bring down immigration is a ruthless and radical way..no they probably won`t and that is why there is no real chance of anything changing. the vote for brexit will be meaningless. this is the most likely outcome.

you have to look below the surface of why people vote, in Britain and Ireland a very large percentage of people will vote, even now, on religious lines...this has been the hidden factor in British politics for 400 years.

Indeed his immigration policies may be hard line to the right but a lot of his economic policy is not Conservative,eg in fact he has promised to spend a lot of money on minimum wage for instance , how he will balance the books remains to be seen

I'd love it if the voters sided with trump just to witness the media meltdown. It would be the greatest tv ever.

It's tough to bet against Clinton given the polls and bookmakers' odds, but I chat to a lot of folks in America and the vast majority seem to favour Trump. You see a lot more of his window posters and yard billboards travelling about.
It might be a false comparison, but the election does bring to mind pre-referendum forecasts over here in Britain.

Thought I better do some looking lest I make myself look an idiot () so been on 538.com. Nate Silver, he of the 51-for-51 in the 2012 election, today rates Trump's chances now at between 14-17%, so pretty much in line with the odds on here.
Also on the same site was another article, also dated today, states:
The 2016 election is poised to be among the most polarized elections ever, not only along gender and generational lines, but especially along lines of race and educational attainment.
There's evidence that Trump is underperforming Romney among Asians and African-Americans, not just Latinos and college-educated whites.
No figures provided, unfortunately, so not sure where they get this evidence, but, given that Obama polled 93% of the black vote, it seems pretty clear that the 25% you saw in the poll you mention wasn't accurate.

A woman has told the Washington Post that Donald Trump reached up her skirt and groped her in a New York City nightspot in the 1990s.
Kristin Anderson said the property mogul touched her vagina through her underwear during the alleged assault. Ms Anderson, now 46, said she was "very grossed out and weirded out".
It is the latest claim of sexual misconduct to emerge in recent days against the Republican nominee, who has branded his accusers "liars"
Responding to this specific accusation, his spokeswoman said Ms Anderson was seeking publicity by making a "phony" complaint.
