hi terry - been doing a lot more exercise too but have not controlled the food intake and have probably eaten more. I have started a calorie controlled food regime in the hope that that will take some lbs off.

I felt really rough for the first week , headaches and aches couldn't work it out but guess it must have been the detox process. I have feel more tired but that maybe the increased exercise .

Looking forward to a nice glass of red in 2 weeks!!!

Have you an Android or Apple phone?

https://www.bounts.it/

They pay you to keep active, not much I hasten to add but it may spur you on to keep beating your average.

I've an ID 107 fitness bracelet so can't use the bounts app but I do well over 10k steps M-F, and relax at the weekend.

My reason for buying is there's heart disease in my family and I'm now 48 so I wanted to keep an eye on my BPM. I think these bracelets are brilliant btw and encourage you to push yourself.

not touched anything in October and I cannot recall having a drink in September either. Never had a problem leaving drink but cigarettes and cigars are another matter........
Report The Dragon October 9, 2016 7:25 PM BST
I smoked for over 25 years and just decided to stop as my chest had had enough, Never touched one in 10 years Don't think I could give my wine up as easily as it is part of what I do socially/relax
Report Coachbuster October 9, 2016 7:41 PM BST

Report Ovalman. October 9, 2016 7:49 PM BST
You have fat stored inside your body that could be being burnt up. Don't think because you aren't losing weight, exercise isn't any good. People lose weight in different ways.

I for one am not my Ovalman name and overweight, I'm 12st and at the top range for my BMI. I also know I don't do enough to help my body and why I bought a fitness band.

i was going to do sober october as we have our far east trip coming up in november, but the girlfriend has arranged too many days/nights out for us where alcohol would be difficult to resist. I did do 2nd january till the end of february earlier in the year and by heck did i feel a lot better. Currently weighing in at about 16st 4lb which is better than the 18st last xmas.

will just have to reduce the amount I consume Cool
Report Jack Hacksaw October 14, 2016 7:44 PM BST
I'd find it hard for a month.

Sticking to a 5:2 diet which, pretty much  excludes alcohol for 2 days, so that is fine with me also.
