Shell shocked or defence strategy? He was appearing by video link from Belmarsh, an environment that you imagine he is finding traumatic.

I think he is innocent by reason of insanity

Either way he has to be detained, probably for life.

The man made his own gun and bullets, that took a lot longer than the Brexit campaign

I am sorry for Joe Cox r.i.p.....but I don't think this man had been in his right mind for some time.

Brexit may have brought it to a head, but it could easily have been anything else did that.

Only a certain religion can play that card, actually they don't even have
to play it as someone else does it for them....a lot of them don't even realise
their mentally ill until they...i won't say no more Crazy

I am saying that because he appears to have had some history of mental illness..

He has always been attached to far right groups....not a good cocktail a mix of mental health problems and extremist groups.

I am not just saying because of what he did.....no

One has to make the decision on his previous history as well

Just being an extremist would not make him insane, I agree with you there Ron

There has to be mental health issues as well

In the old days we used to have those large Mental hospitals...but we closed them to save money

Those hospitals were a home, a refuge for some people. Being out in the outside world is not easy for some.

Particularly now Trump is on the driftCry

It was a planned attack on a specific person from someone who has clearly displayed extreme political views over a number of years. Absolutely pathetic for people on here to play the mental illness card just because some of Mair's views are similar to their own.

Don't let facts get in the way Burton. All the people who parrot the "mental Muslim" line at every other atrocity lately will deny this man similar understanding.
