He's probably got about 5 million votes already, mostly in existing Labour strongholds. Depending on how / if the redefining of electoral boundaries goes ahead before the next election, they will almost certainly not lose any of their existing, inner city seats, no matter how much spin and bluster UKIP put in on 'stealing the working class Labour vote'.

He's then got to get into traditional Tory / middle England / 'Dagenham' constituencies.

I doubt Labour have a cat in hell's chance of winning over the 'traditional' middle class vote in those areas. Their only opportunity will be to mobilise youngsters who have not voted in these constituencies, which is a tough 'ask' but realistically, Labours best chance of getting close to power.

.....which is very far from being a 10000000/1 shot

Unfortunately - as we've seen with UKIP and Trump - insults don't work. The polar opposite in fact.

Labour should be unelectable. As usual with them it's all 'land of milk and honey' stuff without one gesture towards costing other than 'bleed the bankers'; (a nice soundbite but not a sustainable economic policy). You don't need a good memory to recall Liam Byrne's 'there's no money left' message after Labour mortgaged their future as they always do, when last in power.

But not taking them seriously and playing the man not the ball is utterly counterproductive

they've just had their conference in peace and quiet and been allowed to get on with it. The tories have got theirs coming up soon, yet the Momentum/Militant brownshirts are planning on disrupting it and holding mass protests at the venue.

Totally counterproductive of them.

Leopard do you think the Labour party could run the country from an economic point of view ?
Report Dotchinite September 29, 2016 10:51 AM BST
You have to hand it to Corbyn for one thing. This persona of niceness and honesty that so may have swallowed whilst running the most threatening and intimidating party in decades takes some doing.
His followers even blamed Branson when Corbyn was shown to be a blatant liar and immediately started threatening to nationalize Bransons company.

I do think though that Corbyn is merely the mouthpiece for McDonnell and if they could alter the rules to allow Mcdonnell to stand Corbyn would vanish pretty quickly.

'....."The bankers want him to fail, as do the businessmen who finance the modern Labour Party. The mass media are enemies. The BBC has abandoned its traditional neutrality over what it calls ‘Left-wing Jeremy Corbyn’ (why doesn’t it refer to ‘Right-wing David Cameron/ Theresa May’?)

Tony Blair and his supporters hate Corbyn. Having failed to prevent his meteoric rise, they and their apologists in the London media establishment are now plotting his downfall.

Britain’s morally bankrupt security establishment — the very same that duped the Blair government into an insane war against Iraq — despises Corbyn. One serving British Army general disgracefully talks of disobeying his commands if he becomes Prime Minister, raising the dreadful spectre of a military coup....'
