Concentrix have apparently made an absolute horlicks of doing this and even the government have noticed this and are not renewing the contract. Who gave it to them in the first place ?

Probably the same ones who thought it a good idea to pay the private sector to find reasons to stop paying disabled people.

how do you prove anything these days? If push comes to shove I'd be hard pressed to prove my identity. Only have a driving license and a birth certificate.

''Last week, US firm Concentrix - which is employed by HMRC to help reduce incorrect or fraudulent tax credit payments - learned it would not have its contract renewed once it expires in May 2017.''

No reason given - perhaps HMRC have found someone that can do it cheaper?

Most of the stories are coming from a whistle blower.

You'll always find disgruntled claimers ready to complain.

I have never seen or heard any HMRC representative ever explain or help guide the public over decicisobs or problems related to the way they do things. I listen to money box on radio four regularly and they never show up to answer complaints, guidance is rarely given as to their own rules and they assume guilt before innocence themselves so they can't really point fingers IMO.
