Just seen this on Facebook, what a sad reflection on our once great nation....

Some really shocking news. The Royal British Legion are not selling poppies in certain areas on Nov 11 this year. This is because some minorities say that it will upset them. I say sod off ... The poppy is a symbol of reverence for our fallen heroes of all the wars the BRITISH military have fought in. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN BRITAIN! BRITISH CITIZENS STAND UP AND SAY 'WE WANT THE POPPY SOLD EVERY WHERE IN THE UK'. THIS IS OUR RIGHT TO REVERE OU

It wouldn't surprise you if next you'll be called a racist for wearing a Poppy.

The British Police already allow muslims to burn the great symbol on Remembrance Day Crazy

From 5 years back, how much more broke is it now.

I think it is sad, they should be sold everywhere.

The Muslims are under no obligation to buy or wear them, but they should accept others feel differently.

The problem is that some British servicemen have been killed in recent wars against Muslim countries.

But is not the fault of the servicemen, they just do their job they are paid for. It is the fault of our politicians, if people believe

there is fault.

Same story pops up every year. Can we have a comprehensive list of areas where the poppy will no longer be sold, please?

Can't imagine too many up the Falls being sold, at least Republican's now acknowledge the Irish sacrifice in the 1st World War (while the same bastards repelled because of the UK's weaknesses)

I suppose there might be one good thing to come out of it if indeed the poppies won't be sold in some culturally-enriched, peace-loving areas of Britain. It means that the charming, fragrant, progressive, sorely-provoked Holy Men who reside there may not be able to burn them this year after all.

They'll also thus be spared the impertinence of any state-sanctioned prosecution against them. Outrageously, one such delightful Holy Man was fined a whole £50 for being found guilty of burning poppies in 2011. We must give thanks that the £50 fine was reportedly paid for him by an even nice man, recently sent to jail for 5 and a half years for terrorism relayed offences.

Nor can I Oval, but that's nothing new. Easter lilies are so much prettier.

My grandfather fought for the British in WW2. I still wouldn't wear a poppy.

@alun at the time the poppy burner got a £50 fine someone was jailed for 6 months for placing a pigs head outside a mosque.

And why not?

Our forefathers fought against tyranny,I think we should acknowledge them.
