My smartphone battery seems to have died about 10 minutes ago, so until I can replace it, I need a cheap non-smart phone that can take a headset.
Can they do that? Can I just grab a £5 to £25 phone from the 24-hour supermarket and plug a headset in (for making calls, not listening to music) or is it more complicated than that.
Depends if it's locked to a network, if your network is different and you want to use your card you're forked. Same network might be ok. Unless you want to use the temporary number?
What's wrong with the battery, another short term option might be to use a portable USB/battery charger to carry around if the battery will last a short time between or something.

Temporary number is fine, and no-one will pay me for sex (certainly not twice). I need to be able to take calls hands-free, though, hence the need for a headset compatible phone.

Last non smart phone I had came with its own little hands free earphone and mic that plugged in, can't remember if it even did bluetooth. It'll just depend on the model really, look at the box. Other option is just pop into a 2nd hand phone shop, or ask a mate, I've got like 2 working old fashioned phones in a drawer!

Thanks -- I'd not thought of the 2nd-hand route tbh, or of borrowing a friend's spare. (And now I'm reminded of a mate who once announced he had borrowed his 9-year-old daughter's *spare* phone.)
