The attack on an aide convoy is disgusting.
I heard a few days ago there had been 199 breaches of the ceasefire.
So who caused the breakdown?
Were the British drones and American bombings of Syrian military justified prior to this convoy attack?
The news reports of the bombing of aide workers show an abhorrent element of the war, but is it different to America bombing hospitals?
This tit for tat nature is just a continued power struggle.
This is the real face of humanity lest anyone forget.

The US should not get involved in Syria, they will get no thanks for their efforts to bring a peaceful solution and may even get attacked in the future by the very people they have risked their lives to help.

Whenever Syria is mentioned. I picture their tanks heading for Israel for the start of the six day war
And in the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, again the Syrians tanks were heading towards Israel. And we're supposed to give aid to war mongers such as these. When they're perfectly capable of blowing each other to bits without any help from the West. As for giving a home to their migrants - we must be mad to even think of taking in these kinds of people. |

And we're supposed to give aid to war mongers such as these. Israel of course are not war like? A country that should never have been created. |

Not to mention the fact that Britain is allied to the biggest warmongers going, who themselves were previously allied to the mujahideen in Afghanistan and Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war.

Should be a comma after Afghanistan. Don't think the mujahideen were too prominent in Iraq under Saddam.

America dont have the clout they thought they had since the Vietnam and North Korea humblings and so subscribe totally to proxy war now in their power struggles.
They chanced their arm in the Cuban missile crisis and got very very lucky (they thought they were keeping nuclear missiles out by blockading, when actually the Soviets reportedly had around 200 missiles already pointing at America in Cuba....which meant the sinking of that ship would have meant the sinking of 200 of the most prominent american cities) |

Vietnam, Cuba, N.Korea, Syria? have always been used by the Russians, and how has that worked out in every one of these countries?.

Countries make their own decisions The attack on the aid convey was a reprisal for US planes attacking Syrian Government troops last week, killed 62.(which may or may not have been a mistake) The terrible civil war in Syria rolls on. If it could only be ended there would be no need for Moslem refugees to flee to Europe. I don't think Europe is winning out of this. |

But to solve Syria, we need to work with them, not against them. Those aid conveys do not contain weapons, but they enable the rebels to keep fighting? They have to eat. |

The US planes that killed Syrian troops were supposed to be targeting ISIS not Assad's forces.

What were you expecting? They are hardly going to come out and say US preliminary conclusion finds that US backed moderate rebels/terrorists are responsible for hitting aid convoy. This is the way it works. Russia blame the US for everything and the US blames Russia for everything. |

on the radio last night an eyewitness said that the convoy was hit by barrel bombs carried by 2 helicopters.

If they don't blow each other up today, they'll blow each other up tomorrow. As regards taking refugees from places like Syria. The number I would let into the UK would be.....zero. For the same reason nearby Arab countries won't take any in. Which is ''They're not like us.'' |

The rebels have seemingly achieved nothing in the last six years, a ceasefire with Assad still in place is effectively a loss.
If fighting stops do America really think Russia will serve Assad up on a plate? America have no pull here and the world knows it |

Yes perhaps that`s the problem, they don`t listen to good advice. It can be an almost impossible task when you are the greatest and most enlightened power in the world suh as the US trying to civilise the natives.
Britain found this also even at the height of its great empire. |

Unless a democratic and powerful country such as the US is prepared to go in not just to keep the peace but to impose its values and systems of government and freedoms of religion and the rule of law etc then nothing is achieved
