The "stolen" pink beret incident which he described as "the menacing face of Brexit" actually went to court.
Similar to the whistle theft episode on Father Ted.
Is this human being really as pathetic and trivial as he seems?

I hate him, his jokes are cr@p, he's a fake, he never ran 27 marathons  in 27 days - the fat f*ck couldn't even chase the bloke who nicked his pink hat let alone run 27 marathons. He's a c*nt.

The irony is that it was a Polish Brexit supporter that took his beret.

Doesn't seem to fit the media stereotype.

I read an article in The Guardian and Izzard has been asked to be the face and spokesperson for the current popular sub-culture known as Generation Snowflake. He broke down in tears and had to be given a cuddle.

This ^ possibly never happened.

''Czerwonko, of Brentford, west London, pleaded guilty to theft at Westminster magistrates' court on Monday.
The chef, who has lived in the UK for two and a half years, was fined £185, and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.''
Telegraph.

Whatever people think of Izzard, who doesn't intentionally harm anyone with his eccentric ways. Or his points of view.
He should not have to put up with loutish behaviour such as this.

The accused said he didn't know who Izzard was.

Well he knows now. And he's got a criminal record to back it up.

When Izzard ran those 27 marathons in 27 days. In South Africa he carried became obsessed with the words and mantra of Nelson Mandela - these power phrases got him through the pain barrier.

Somehow i believe Izzard now feels that he is on a Mandela type mission for his idealisms.

The man is deluded but his personal belongings should not be swiped by anyone.

Izzard fell well short of votes in his attempt to get onto Labour's NEC in recent elections. Unfortunately for him and his beret, both factions of the party mobilised and campaigned to get their preferred candidates elected.

Doing 27 fake marathons in 27 days in South Africa was a good way for his masters to get his in the public eye in a big way. Oh and he just happened to be a big supporter of the EU - just a coincidenceWink  And the beauty is(for Izzard) there is no evidence that  he ever done the marathons.

Never like the Ross Noble/Eddie Izzard rambling maniac school of comedy.
too close to some conversations I've had with people I met on the job.
Or in higher education. Did this start with Lenny Bruce or Spike Milligan..
the comedian that loses his marbles over a long length of time.

First I've heard of anyone stealing his beret, but then I use this place as my main news source.

Well done to the police for getting this one wrapped up quickly. Must be getting on for 20 years or more that they've been looking for Izzard's book of jokes.

I don't see how he could fake it but I too am a bit surprised at the 27 marathons in 27 days thing?
Normally you need a few days to recover from just one, you'd think you'd get like a stress fracture of the foot or torn achilles or something else even if you were the most elite athlete (which he isn't).

This is a great video of Izzards people.Skip to 11:04 to see the protesters demanding a rerun vote.I'm not British, but seeing them makes me understand why you voted to leave.

I watched the documentary on the marathons and due to his body hurting he actually missed one day, but actually made it up by running two marathons on the 27th day.

No idea how he did it(if he did) he seemed to shuffle along rather than jogging.
